Attainment: expected standard

In 2017, 50% of our pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths, combined (compared with 61% nationally). This represents a 10% increase from 2016 results.

Reading:  63 % meeting expected standards (national:  71%)

Writing:   75% meeting expected standards (national: 76%)

Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 76% meeting expected standards (national: 77%)

Maths: 71% meeting expected standards (national: 75%)

Scaled scores, where 100 is the expected national standard (there are no scaled scores available for Writing).

 102.2 average scaled score in Maths  (NA 103.0)

 104.3 average scaled score in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (NA 106.0) 

Progress measures

The Department for Education measures progress from Key Stage 1 (KS1) to Key Stage 2 (KS2).  Expected progress is zero, with anything above that being better than expected and negative numbers showing less than expected progress.

EYFS Data 2017

The 2015/16 cohort entered reception with attainment below expected.  They made good progress through the EYFS with an above average proportion reaching a good level of development.

 2017: Floor targets were exceeded on progress measures but not on attainment measures.

School is disappointed with the 2017 KS2 reading progress scores and has put into place a rigorous action plan to address progress issues.
