Year 4 Visited by Romans

On Wednesday 4th October, Year 4 were visited by a Roman man who taught the children about the Roman way of life. They got to use drama to act out scenes from a Roman market place, children were given props and learnt some Latin phrases used in the Roman Empire. Some children were chosen to be Roman Gods as we learnt about the sacrificial ceremonies that went on. To conclude our day, we learnt about the role of the amphitheatre for Roman entertainment. Some children dressed up as members of the senate to over see a dual between two gladiators and two wild beasts.
