The School Day

Our School day begins for all children at 8:45am and finishes for most children at 3:15pm while our afternoon Nursery finishes at 3:30pm.

Children in Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 should always be brought to and collected from school by a parent or designated adult who is over 16 years old. If an adult, who is registered with us on our list, is unable to collect your child, please inform the School office and provide them with the name of the adult who will be collecting. For safeguarding reasons, we use a password system that parents set up with us to ensure children are collected by trusted adults. Parents of children in upper Key Stage 2 can provide signed consent for their son/daughter to walk home by themselves.

We offer two separate sessions in our Nursery which are weekday mornings or weekday afternoons.

Assemblies and Reflective Thinking Time

We use daily Reflective Thinking Time which follow different chosen themes and British Values each half term. We gather together in assemblies to mark the beginning and end of the week. Monday morning assemblies discuss our themes and values and Friday morning assemblies celebrate attainment and progress made over a week.

Lunchtime Arrangements

School meals are available and are served in the School Hall. The menus for lunches are available to view. School meals are cooked on site to a high standard and give your child the opportunity of eating a well-balanced midday meal. A vegetarian option is always included and halal meat is available. Children select their meal option at registration time every day.

Children who go home for lunch should return to the School Office ten minutes prior to the start of their afternoon session. Payment for meals is made via ParentPay in advance either weekly or monthly (please see the ‘ParentPay’ page under the ‘Parents’ tab for more information.  Your child may bring a cold packed lunch as an alternative to a cooked meal.  The lunch box should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class, and may contain a cold drink which should be in a plastic container or carton. (No fizzy drinks or sweets please). We are also a nut-free school due to some children in our care who have severe nut allergies.

While we encourage every child to bring a water bottle to School, water and beakers are available on the tables whether they are eating cooked or packed lunches. If your child wishes to transfer from one type of lunch to the other you need to contact the School Office who will advise you when the change can take place.
